What We Are About: 

Authentic life ministries is about Living with purpose. We desire to transform our city and invest our lives into people around us.

We believe city transformation will come as we create intersection points for Holy Spirit  and those in need. We do this by living in broken neighborhoods, doing street outreach, and hosting events for our neighborhoods.

We believe the best way to invest in others is to cultivate a family. We do this by creating space for connection, fostering an environment of trust, and providing opportunities to stretch and to grow.

Finally, we believe that as each one of us learns to love our neighbors as ourselves, we can see Jesus transform a block, a city, and even our world.

Eddie & Shonda’s Story: 

Hailing from Defiance, OH, Eddie and Shonda’s background includes nearly 35 years in the business world combined with 25 years in pastoral ministry. 

In 2012, Eddie and Shonda felt God call them to the Columbus Ohio area to serve as Executive Pastors on staff at Zion Christian Fellowship in Powell, OH.  They purchased a lovely home in a very nice subdivision in Delaware, OH where they lived for just over two years.  At that time, they felt the calling of the Lord to move to the inner city, so they sold their beautiful home and purchased an abandoned home in the south of main neighborhood for $2,500 and made this their home and base of operations for Authentic Life Ministries.  In January of 2017, Eddie transitioned out of his Executive Pastor role at Zion, and along with Shonda, his bride of nearly 30 years, they serve as missionaries to their community.  Eddie and Shonda lead a community of passionate individuals dedicated to impacting the lives of their neighbors, and seeing Jesus get His full reward.
